No sweat, no gain, and so, as part of an apprenticeship project, 13 Postbus apprentices worked for eleven months to revive a dilapidated vintage car. But let's start from the beginning …
Last winter, Postbus continued the cross-state apprentice project and transferred a completely rusted VW Beetle to the Linz workshop. First, the iconic small car was disassembled into its individual components by the young talents – under the expert guidance of the apprentice trainers – and then repaired, restored, reassembled, wallpapered, wired and made roadworthy for months. Not only did the young colleagues acquire specialist knowledge during this process, they also trained in project management and learned to take individual responsibility – all for a charitable cause.
Auction for LICHT INS DUNKEL
The faithfully restored vehicle was symbolically handed over to LICHT INS DUNKEL Managing Director Mario Thaler on November 9th in Pasching, Upper Austria, by Postbus CEO Alfred Loidl with the apprentices. The guests and media representatives were impressed about what the Postbus apprentices had collectively achieved and were marveled at the demanding level of training offered to the young talent.
On December 18th, the vintage car will be auctioned off to benefit LICHT INS DUNKEL. Bidding can be done from November 18th to December 18th via the auction website https://lichtinsdunkel.aurena.at.. The entire proceeds from the auction will benefit LICHT INS DUNKEL for social and disability projects in Austria.
